6/22/2009 / Amanda and Tia got a pass to climb Mt Whitney for Fathers Day weekend. We all met up at the Lone Pine campground on Saturday and the girls got ready for the climb. They left at 5 in the morning to begin thier journey to the top. The highest peak in the continental US is no joke. They didn't make it to the top, unfortunately, due to a late season snow storm. While the girls were on the mountain I was having a day with the grommies and Maddy. We cruised around Lone Pine looking for a place to stay cool and catch some Trout from the local stream. We didn't catch a single fish, for I spent way too much time untangling the kids' fishing lines from the bushes overlooking the streams. Good times. Thanks Maddy for coming along and thanks Manda for a great Fathers Day!
