2/10/2009 / Catching a flight from San Diego at 6:00a.m. is a lot of fun, (thanks Tracy!), especially when you have had, let's say 2 hours of sleep, and when you are Amanda, no sleep at all. We arrived in New Orleans Tuesday evening and we were so glad to begin our vacation. It was great to see the bros, sis-in-laws, extended family and great friends, oh yeah and Neice's too! I was even also really glad to once again immerse myself in all that is Loiusiana, up to and including the following Southern traditions. 1. Rabbit Sauce Picante, Mr. Z gave us a proper helping with some of his backyard specialty! 2. Crawfish Boil, thanks so much for that wonderful experience that not many people get to enjoy in their life! 3. Drinking 1 million+ beers in 1 week. It can be done. Ask David. 4. Armadillo kicking, gee wizz what great tradition that I have to pass on to my kids. Unfortunately we didn't get to go this trip, maybe next time. 5. Shooting guns. Don't get to do that much out here, it's always a treat to do. Most of all is just visiting with family, hearing people's differences in political opinions, talking shop, fixing things, playing Catch Phrase, drinking, eating, and whatever else we did to pass the time. Thanks to everyone that helped us along the way and came out to make our visit a memorable one. Hope to see everyone sooner rather than later,
